Acute Care

“Acute care is an area of practice dedicated to the provision of physiotherapy services in hospitals. In this setting, individuals are admitted to a hospital for short-term care due to illness, injury, surgery or other trauma. The goal of care is to promote recovery and, once medically stable, ensure safe discharge from a physical rehabilitation standpoint.” – Physiopedia

This is the area of physiotherapy I work in at the hospital. I was lucky enough to land jobs in both the clinic and hospital setting. I never wanted to lose any of my acute care physiotherapy skills and working multiple jobs has allowed me to maintain them!
