About Me

My name is Amanda Gemmell, I am a Registered Pelvic Health and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist.
I completed my BA in Biology at Faulkner University in Alabama. Here I played Varsity Women’s Soccer on a soccer scholarship. After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved back to Canada and completed my Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in 2017.

I currently work in Windsor/Essex County in both the clinic and hospital setting. At the clinic I work as an orthopedic and pelvic health physiotherapist, at the hospital I work as an acute care physiotherapist. I absolutely love working in such different settings on a daily basis as it keeps all of my skills very sharp. It also keeps me accountable in staying up to date with the latest research and techniques!

As far as personal interests go, I have a lot of them! I love soccer and running (track and cross country) and have recently taken up kickboxing and jiujitsu! I ride horses and do a lot of training with my dog (see below), along with a passion for painting and drawing!

If you follow my physiotherapy social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram), you’ll see the star of many of my posts is my dog Meeko! He is a husky/german shepherd mix who I spend the majority of my free time training. We focus on obedience, scent finding, agility, and tracking. Luckily I grew up and live on a farm so we have lots of space to work on these things.
